[Work Attire] [Quick Share] Loafers!!

Loafers are definitely in trend now.

Oh... and slip-on sneakers too!!  (Yes, they are back!)

I have picked three pairs of loafers on sale and you can't believe how cheap they are.

The silver ones and brown pony hair ones are STEVE by Steve Madden (Silver pair is $28 USD and the brown pair is $40 USD).  You can find them on Amazon, 6pm, or DSW.  The burgundy ones are from TAOBAO ($13.50 USD).  

[Work Attire] Gingham Blazer x Shorts

Friday! A happy day!

Today, I am going to share my work attire if your office allows certain shorts to take places.

Although it is okay to wear shorts, it doesn't mean that you can go all casual at work.

Therefore, I throw a blue gingham check blazer on top of my white silk sleeveless shirts.

Also, I wear over the knee boots to cut down the percentage of bare skin.

I HAVE to mention my lovely vibrant yellow patent belt as a pop of this blue/navy hued outfit.

[Work Attire] If I were a boy...

This week has been a boy-ish week!!  I played with several boy-fit or steal-from-boyfriend style pieces and created this combo post.  

First of, I want to stay comfy and professional on a busy Tuesday.  A simple grey tank topped with a darker shades of grey (2 shades of grey...) boy-fit blazer will do the trick.  Wearing full-length suit pants will be too formal for my office, so I threw on my cropped leg chinos instead.  Pumps with customers and flats in my office.  You can choose from leopard print loafers to oxfords.  Sometimes I do shop around men's section because somehow I feel like the smallest size of men fit me the best comparing with boy-style in women section.  Girls, let's rock menswear together!!

[Nail polish] Deborah Lippmann - Dark Side of the Moon

Ho-ho-ho...

Fall is not even close, but I couldn't wait to put on grape-wine-ish dark purple on my finger tips!

I have many dark navy blue nail lacquers and grey-toned violet, but no this beautiful wine purple.

The formula is thin, and this is showing 3 layers with clear top coat.

It was hard to apply it even the first coat, but it will be fine after you apply the second coat.

  J.Crew is my favorite website to shop for work attire.  They usually offer basic items, such as basic Ts, dress shirts, basic tanks, cardigans and sweaters, in a variety of colors and prints.  They are not afraid of playing with colors or prints.  On their lookbooks, models also demonstrates the boldest way to mix&match.  Their image is not super feminine; mostly, they are quite boyish.  You will look like a female executive who has decent taste and pay in J.Crew.

[Special Project] [Work Attire] Where I shop for my work attire? - Part I >> General Overview

Since I have been blogging about work attire, I would like to share where I normally shop for my closet.  Being a female engineer around her going to be 30, my wardrobe is very different from it was 10 years ago.  Now, I generally buy 70% business casual, 25% casual and only 5% business formal pieces.  Note that I do have 2 sets of boardroom formal suits (one set of pants and one set of skirt) for very important conferences and meetings.

Let me explain the 5% first.  Those pieces are generally black or darker in color and solid in prints.  The only prints falls under this category is dark grey with very subtle pinstripes.  These business formal pieces are for meetings with higher level boss alongside with customers.  I know that my higher level supervisor likes "cute" girls (I mean.... look at his group of assistants!!), so I will not wear anything too serious or formal to meetings with him if I have to help my team to convince him of some decisions.  This is not a very good image of female engineers, but I look it as our privileges if used properly.  This is reality and a fair game to play, isn't it?

J.Crew offers a variety of patterns, bold or subtle, and usually play with them in a very high-fashion way.

Pros: I love their cashmere collections particularly.  

Cons: a little bit pricey...

LOFT and Ann Taylor are sister brands.  Ann Taylor offers more sophisticated and aged versions while LOFT offers career rookies a great way to look professional yet stay chic.

Pros: Both brands offer discount codes frequently.

Cons: not a fan of their winter fabrics 

Banana Republic is a great place to shop for business formal and especially great for a more mature look. 

Pros: Great suiting options

Cons: a tad too mature for me

GAP belongs to the same group as BR.  I do see it as a younger version of BR a lot.  Love their essential Ts.

Pros: denim collections

Cons: sometimes too casual

[Nail Polish] Ciate over several

Hello everyone!

Happy Monday?!?!

After so long, I am going to share one of my manicure from June... (what?!?!)

Okay.  I applied Ciate "Jewel 083" over different colors to see how they work together.

On my thumb is "Jewel 083" x 2 coats.

On my index finger is "Jewel 083" over  "No.41" from Rimmel 60 seconds collection.

The base color of my middle finger is Ciate "Holiday Blue 021" (read this post).

The base color of my ring finger is "Stormy Weather" of Deborah Lippmann.

As for my pinky finger is a grey creme from Zoya.

[Work Attire] [Casual] Packing for the Weekend (Value Pack!)

Packing for the weekend is not completely casual at all because I usually get off after work on Fridays.  Thus, today, I would like to share what I have packed for my trip home last month.  

Here's how I stay chic and cool.  

(Most items  are less than $1000 NTD, about $33 USD)

First, you have to pack for all occasions on your calendar and travel LIGHT!

Friday: Work + Commute

Saturday: Family Birthday Dinner

Sunday: Commute

[Note] It is extremely hot already here in Taiwan, so I have chosen silk and light weight fabric in this post.

Friday's Outfit

[Work Attire] Fit and flare dress is perfect for a casual Friday.  

What is missing in this photo is a dark wash denim shirt (in my bag) to top it off when sleeveless dress is too revealing and keep me warm in some over air-conditioned meeting rooms.  

You can always replace sandals with any flats if open-toe shoes are not permitted at work.

Dress is about $6 ~ $7 USD.  Belt is about $7.

Saturday's Outfit

[Casual] A&F Navy Lace Top (a tad peplum style) goes well with nude/pastel pink maxi skirt!

Same belt to create proportion and the same GiGi sandals.

Lace Top: about $30 USD.  Maxi skirt: $12 USD.

I didn't take pictures of my Sunday commuting outfit because the only difference is I wear the cami with the denim shirt and tie at front.  (Denim shirt is about $25 USD.)

It's only June and already too hot.

Every time I wear my neon orange TOMS, I get comments like "wow, the color really pops out!" all the time.  My reactions are.... yeah... it's safer to wear them at night!!  Well......

Again, I tied my denim shirt at front to create portion by a cropped-top look.  Can you tell from the picture that I am actually only 162 cm (5 feet and 3 3/4 inch)?

Cropped top is in trend this year.  Normally, I would have had a bunch of crop tops on hand with pictures already.  However, as I have promised myself when buying that PS11 bag that I will NOT spend a dime on any clothes till Dec. 31st (shoes under a certain price range will be allowed during Thanksgiving shopping season as I am actually planning to buy a pair of Rag & Bone Harrow booties in black leather when SHOPBOP offers extra 30% off this time).  And that's all for this year.  Thus, despite how much I love this year's new trend - cropped tops, I could NOT spend any money on it.  

Being unable to buy new clothes doesn't really bother me... now I realized.....

I either digged my closet for my old pieces that was a little too short or created a "faux" cropped-top look by tying a knot with my shirts.   

As a result, I did find some lace tanks that could be worn as cropped tops with a high-waisted midi full skirt.

So now... it's time to hit the gym... A toned ab is also a necessity when wearing crop tops.

[Work Attire] Striped Dress x Striped Tote and Striped Flats!

Hello everyone!  This outfit was from yesterday.  As usual, my love of stripes just won't fade away...
大家好阿~  這其實是昨天的穿搭啦!  一如往常,我對條紋單品的熱愛永不滅阿~~~

This dress is from last season.  Its material is heavy weight cotton with a hint of stretch.  I normally wear 00-Regular or 0-Petite.  However, this one didn't have neither of my sizes, I ended up with a 00-Petite.  It fits me pretty well in general since this is a fit and flare silhouette.  The only downside is a tad tight around my neck.

這件洋裝是上一季的  是相當有份量 有點厚度的棉 有一點點的彈性   我通常穿 Regular 00號, 或是 Petite 0號.  但是當初這件洋裝,我兩個常穿的尺寸都沒有,只好買了 小一點的 Petite 00 來試試看 (激勵自己減肥)  整體來說相當合身, 因為是小圓裙的剪裁   唯一的小缺點只是頸部有點小緊

I really like shopping in LOFT because they frequently offer discount over new arrivals and no codes needed.  They also offer extra discounts on sale products from time to time.  Their collections are usually perfect for work.  Ann Taylor is their sister brand with a higher price and sometimes better cutting and material.  They do have very similar designs and style.  You can find similar styles in different prints or fabrics on both websites.  That is to say, if you find a cute dress on LOFT with a little disappointment on is color, you can always check Ann Taylor instead and maybe find a 90% similar dress in the color you prefer.  Vice versa.
我很喜歡在LOFT 買東西, 因為常常新貨就給打折(不是小氣的九折或是八折喔!)  而且不用折扣碼   甚至連已經在折扣區的商品 都還可以有折上折!!  LOFT的東西大部分都是非常適合上班職場的穿著   另帶一題, Ann Taylor 是 LOFT 比較高檔一點的品牌, 兩個品牌基本上設計很像,只是消費族群年齡稍有不同.  如果你在LOFT 找到喜歡的洋裝卻不太滿意顏色,可以試著找找看 Ann Taylor, 可能會找到9分像,但是有你喜歡的顏色的喔!  反之亦然!

[Nail Polish] Ciate - 021 Holiday Blue!

Hooray!!!  This is my 100th blog post!!  Can't believe that I made it this far.

This color without doubt is summer ready!

Accidentally found this nail polish in SaSa last weekend and checked out immediately!

Ciate is really easy to apply.  Dry fast.  

This is two coats (one coat is fairly good enough) with a Sassy clear top coat.

Hello everyone!  I know it's been a long silence...

My family went on a trip to South Korea during Dragon Boat Festival.  I like weather in Korea and their eating habit is so different from ours.  I might post more photos later on... (cross my fingers!)

好的~ 今天又是一套 從工作到休閒的穿搭

Gotta mention my new Proenza Schouler PS11 Classic bag in caramel first.

PS11 has its irreplaceable place in my heart.  I'm personally not crazy about PS1; however, PS11, PS13 and PS Courier always catch my eyes.  Last week, I found that Reebonz.com had this caramel classic PS11 on sale within my range and a bright yellow mini on sale on SSENSE.com.  I couldn't decide whether to get a long-lasting color bigger size one or the bright summer-ready smaller size cutie.  Thus, I had a quick poll between my male friends (thought they tend to be less biased).

PS11 在我心中有無可取代的地位! 我個人並沒有太喜歡PS1, 但是很喜歡 PS11, PS13 還有 PS Courier.  上周, Reebonz 有特賣這個焦糖色的, 同時, 也有一個鮮黃色小一點尺寸的mini 在 SSENSE 網站上特賣  我完全無法下決定要買哪個顏色  只好讓我的男性朋友們投票(我想他們應該會比較公正吧!)

It is too hard to wear a long-sleeved shirt all day here in Taiwan.  Instead, I wear it as a cardigan so the tank underneath won't be too revealing and a tie-front adds a little twist and portion to my outfit.  Blue and navy goes really well with bright (a little neon) yellow and caramel (neutral color).  

台灣實在是太熱了,整天穿著長袖襯衫真的太難  所以我把襯衫當做小外套罩衫,讓小可愛不會太過裸露,適合辦公室穿著  前面小綁結 製造比例  

(深) 藍色跟黃色 (這個其實有點螢光黃) 真的很搭 也很適合配上中性的焦糖色
