[Work Attire] [Quick Share] Loafers!!

Loafers are definitely in trend now.
Oh... and slip-on sneakers too!!  (Yes, they are back!)
I have picked three pairs of loafers on sale and you can't believe how cheap they are.

The silver ones and brown pony hair ones are STEVE by Steve Madden (Silver pair is $28 USD and the brown pair is $40 USD).  You can find them on Amazon6pmor DSW.  The burgundy ones are from TAOBAO ($13.50 USD).

[Work Attire] Gingham Blazer x Shorts

Friday! A happy day!

Today, I am going to share my work attire if your office allows certain shorts to take places.

Although it is okay to wear shorts, it doesn't mean that you can go all casual at work.
Therefore, I throw a blue gingham check blazer on top of my white silk sleeveless shirts.
Also, I wear over the knee boots to cut down the percentage of bare skin.
I HAVE to mention my lovely vibrant yellow patent belt as a pop of this blue/navy hued outfit.

Blazer: J.Crew (old)
Top: Ann Taylor (last season)
Shorts: Uniqlo (on sale now)
Belt: J.Crew (old)
Shoes: No brand (last year)

[Work Attire] If I were a boy...

This week has been a boy-ish week!!  I played with several boy-fit or steal-from-boyfriend style pieces and created this combo post.

First of, I want to stay comfy and professional on a busy Tuesday.  A simple grey tank topped with a darker shades of grey (2 shades of grey...) boy-fit blazer will do the trick.  Wearing full-length suit pants will be too formal for my office, so I threw on my cropped leg chinos instead.  Pumps with customers and flats in my office.  You can choose from leopard print loafers to oxfords.  Sometimes I do shop around men's section because somehow I feel like the smallest size of men fit me the best comparing with boy-style in women section.  Girls, let's rock menswear together!!

Blazer: American Eagle (old)
Tank: GAP (old)
Pants: GAP (old)
Shoes: STEVEN by Steve Madden (also in this post and this post)

Plaid Shirt: American Eagle (old, men)

Jeans: DL1961 (Emma leggings, old)
Shoes: Vince Camuto (old, also seen here)

Thursday, I had a meeting with a bunch of product managers and would like to be a little bossy with my leather jacket.
Check out the details in this post.

Friday! TGIF!
I forgot to take a picture after adding jewelry and watch.  Love this tomboy theme of the day.
Overall: Levi's (old)

[Quick Share] Midi Skirts

Updated on Oct. 17th, 2014

Updated on Oct. 8th, 2014

This is a super quick share for PTT "e-shopping" fellows!!
本篇是為了 PTT E-shopping 板友飛快生出來的極短分享

I bought these gorgeous skirts from Taobao (here) in Bright Red, Green and Navy blue.
我從淘寶請代購買入 大紅色, 綠色 以及深藍色

First of all, Bright Red.
首先分享大紅色

[Please noted that I took these pictures without steaming these skirts first and they were just out of the bags.]
因為顏色實在太美, 還來不及燙過就忍不住拍照了!

Tops: Ann Taylor (Winter White, in XS Petite, here)
Shoes: Nine West (super old)

I couldn't wait to wear them to work!!

Top: J.Crew (super old)
Necklace: Ann Taylor (last season)
Watch: Daniel Wellington

Then, I figured... the statement necklace which is my favorite piece of this look is too much for my office... I left home with Hermes H necklace instead.  Gotta say I love my lip color of the day!
Bag: Ann Taylor (here)

This looks more like a purple but it's actually a navy blue.
看起來有點偏紫,但是裙子是真的深藍色

Last but not least, the green!  Love this green and I think it will look look with my floral shirts.
綠色也很美, 搭我其他的印花襯衫應該也會很好看

Hope you will see more pictures of other color soon...

XOXO

[Nail polish] Deborah Lippmann - Dark Side of the Moon

Ho-ho-ho...
Fall is not even close, but I couldn't wait to put on grape-wine-ish dark purple on my finger tips!

I have many dark navy blue nail lacquers and grey-toned violet, but no this beautiful wine purple.

The formula is thin, and this is showing 3 layers with clear top coat.
It was hard to apply it even the first coat, but it will be fine after you apply the second coat.

Thanks for reading. XOXO

[Special Project] [Work Attire] Where I shop for my work attire? - Part III >> J.Crew

J.Crew is my favorite website to shop for work attire.  They usually offer basic items, such as basic Ts, dress shirts, basic tanks, cardigans and sweaters, in a variety of colors and prints.  They are not afraid of playing with colors or prints.  On their lookbooks, models also demonstrates the boldest way to mix&match.  Their image is not super feminine; mostly, they are quite boyish.  You will look like a female executive who has decent taste and pay in J.Crew.

[Special Project] [Work Attire] Where I shop for my work attire? - Part I >> General Overview

Since I have been blogging about work attire, I would like to share where I normally shop for my closet.  Being a female engineer around her going to be 30, my wardrobe is very different from it was 10 years ago.  Now, I generally buy 70% business casual, 25% casual and only 5% business formal pieces.  Note that I do have 2 sets of boardroom formal suits (one set of pants and one set of skirt) for very important conferences and meetings.

Let me explain the 5% first.  Those pieces are generally black or darker in color and solid in prints.  The only prints falls under this category is dark grey with very subtle pinstripes.  These business formal pieces are for meetings with higher level boss alongside with customers.  I know that my higher level supervisor likes "cute" girls (I mean.... look at his group of assistants!!), so I will not wear anything too serious or formal to meetings with him if I have to help my team to convince him of some decisions.  This is not a very good image of female engineers, but I look it as our privileges if used properly.  This is reality and a fair game to play, isn't it?

Now, let's talk about my style first.  If you have a similar style to mine, please read on.  In order to help readers to know more about me, here's my Pinterest link (click).  Check out the boards like "Pieces I like" or "Looks I like" to see if you generally like them.

All right.  Now that you have decided to read on...  It's time to reveal my all-time favorite brands to shop!!

1. J.Crew!!!
2. LOFT and GAP
3. Ann Taylor and Banana Republic

J.Crew offers a variety of patterns, bold or subtle, and usually play with them in a very high-fashion way.
Pros: I love their cashmere collections particularly.
Cons: a little bit pricey...

LOFT and Ann Taylor are sister brands.  Ann Taylor offers more sophisticated and aged versions while LOFT offers career rookies a great way to look professional yet stay chic.
Pros: Both brands offer discount codes frequently.
Cons: not a fan of their winter fabrics

Banana Republic is a great place to shop for business formal and especially great for a more mature look.
Pros: Great suiting options
Cons: a tad too mature for me

GAP belongs to the same group as BR.  I do see it as a younger version of BR a lot.  Love their essential Ts.
Pros: denim collections
Cons: sometimes too casual

Average Price from high to low:

J.Crew > Banana Republic/Ann Taylor > Gap/LOFT

All brands above offer international shipping.

In order not to make this post super long and loose you, this is going to be the end of Part I.  I will dig in each brand and hand pick some items I like to complete my business casual ensembles.

Thanks for reading.  XOXO
